Building your home is an exciting prospect. You can choose the location, layout, and design – all tailored to perfectly suit your lifestyle.
With Outback Builders, you’ll benefit from our tried and tested approach. We have developed 4 key stages to manage the entire building process, making it easier for you. We’ll walk you through every step of the process from vacant block to shiny new home.

Stage 1
Book in for Free Initial consultation
The first step is to arrange a free consultation with us, to help understand your options.
Free site visit:
We’ll visit the piece of land you’ve chosen, and work with you to agree on the best aspect and design for the house, tailoring it to the layout of the land available.
Free estimate:
Based on the site visit and our initial consultation, we’ll give you an estimate of costs, informed by your requirements.
We won’t waste your time or ours. We’ll be honest about what you can achieve with the space and budget available.

Your personalised proposal
If you’re happy to progress, we’ll meet with you to begin the concept plan design and selection process. A fee to cover costs is required at this stage.
Stage 2
Planning & Selections
New home floor plans:
We will work closely with you to finalise your floor plan for your dream home.
We can start with a sketch, or you may be inspired by some of our other floor plans for the new home.
Once we have an idea of your preferred layout, we’ll draw up a plan for you to review and approve before we move to the next stage.
Selection process:
Now we get down to detail. We’ll provide you with a full list of the inclusions and products you need to select and make decisions on.
By completing these selections prior to construction, we can quote a fixed-price and complete your build in a timely manner.
Once the plan and selections are finalised, we will present you with our fixed-price quote and proposal.
Signing the contract
Now that the plan, selections, and price have been agreed upon, we will require you to sign the building contract and pay an initial deposit for the work.
Once signed, we’ll lodge the development applications and all council paperwork.
We’ll also provide you with a proposed timeline for construction, and a detailed payment schedule for each stage of your build.
Stage 3
Building Commences
Once we receive council approval, it’s time to bring your vision to life!
We will oversee all onsite activities, ensuring that your home is constructed to the highest quality standards.

Regular communication
We believe that keeping you informed is key to a successful building experience.
That’s why we provide regular updates on the progress of your home. Should any unexpected delays arise—whether from inclement weather or supply chain issues—we’ll communicate promptly to keep you in the loop.

Milestone moments

With the construction of your new home now complete, we’ll coordinate the final council inspection and ensure that all necessary paperwork is finalised for a smooth sign-off.
Once the paperwork is in order and the final payment is made, it’s time for the moment you’ve been waiting for: the keys to your new home!
